Oilers Face Panthers in Game 2 on Saturday
The Edmonton Oilers scored twice in the third period to beat the Florida Panthers 5-3 in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final at Amerant Bank Arena on Wednesday night.
Connor McDavid scored one goal and set up another for the Oilers, who took a 1-0 lead in the best-of-seven series.
Leon Draisaitl, Evan Bouchard and Zach Hyman also scored for Edmonton, while Mike Smith made 29 saves.
Aleksander Barkov, Carter Verhaeghe and Sam Reinhart scored for the Panthers, while Sergei Bobrovsky made 27 saves.
The Oilers will host the Panthers in Game 2 on Saturday night.
