Early Life and Career
Alistair Murdoch "Ally" McCoist MBE was born on September 24, 1962, in Bellshill, North Lanarkshire, Scotland. He is widely recognized as one of the greatest players in Rangers Football Club's history.
Incredible Goal Scoring Record
McCoist, a brilliant penalty box striker, was twice the recipient of the European Golden Boot award, a testament to his prolific goal-scoring abilities. He holds the record as Rangers' all-time top goalscorer, having netted an astonishing 355 goals for the club.
International Success
McCoist also represented the Scottish national team with distinction, making 61 appearances and scoring 19 goals. He was part of the Scotland team that qualified for the 1990 FIFA World Cup and the 1998 FIFA World Cup.
Post-Playing Career
After retiring from football, McCoist embarked on a successful career as a manager and TV pundit. He managed Rangers from 2011 to 2014 and currently serves as a highly regarded pundit for BT Sport.
