Ally McCoist: Rangers' All-Time Top Scorer
Early Life and Playing Career
Ally McCoist was born in Bellshill, Scotland, on December 24, 1962. He began his football career with junior club Kirkintilloch Rob Roy before signing for Rangers in 1983.
As a player for Rangers, McCoist established himself as one of the most prolific goalscorers in British football history. He scored an impressive 355 goals in 15 seasons at Ibrox Stadium.
Managerial Career
After retiring as a player in 1998, McCoist went on to manage Kilmarnock, Rangers, and Scotland U-21.
He returned to Rangers as manager in 2011 and led them to three Scottish Premier League titles as well as three Scottish League Cups.
Legacy
McCoist is widely regarded as one of the greatest Scottish football players of all time.
He holds the record for the most caps for Scotland (61) and the most goals scored for the national team (19).
