There's no need to check the date on your calendar because it is indeed true. One season away was enough; Zeke is back in Big D.
Running back Ezekiel Elliott and the Dallas Cowboys have agreed to terms on a contract, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. The move reunites the Cowboys with a key piece of their offense, who has been a Pro Bowl selection three times and has led the NFL in rushing twice.
Elliott's return to Dallas comes after a year away from the team. He signed a one-year contract with the Cincinnati Bengals in 2023, but he struggled to find his footing in their offense. He rushed for just 813 yards and four touchdowns in 15 games.
With Elliott back in the fold, the Cowboys' offense should get a significant boost. Elliott is one of the best running backs in the NFL, and he will take some of the pressure off of quarterback Dak Prescott.
The Cowboys are hoping that Elliott's return will help them get back to the playoffs. They missed the postseason in 2023 after finishing with a 6-11 record.
